I write, produce, and perform on old time radio broadcast variety show (podcast) called The Hour of Misery and Light Entertainments hosted by Odious Ari and with ridiculous guests that I voice, myself. Odious and guests (pigeons, tap dancers, time traveling minotaurs, etc.) take on difficult issues like aging, loss, overpopulation, and the absence of inherent meaning in life.
Cabaret Artist
“Famous Vaudeville star
whose flawless career has spanned three miserable centuries! (give or take)”
About
I’m a songwriter and performer, writing mostly satirical comedy songs with a heavy handed approach to social commentary. Having had all the creative wind knocked out of me after studying music composition at a conservatory, I took some time off and then came back to music in different ways and mediums—writing music for theater, playing in bands, creating sound installations in art galleries, and film scoring. Currently, I am often found expressing my dulcet voice through my drag persona, Odious Ari, a washed-up 103 year old Vaudevillian who has outlived all the greats (proving that quantity beats quality any day).

Live Performance
In the cabaret tradition, I use parody and satire to point out the insane parts of our culture, hoping that if we can laugh together via dark humor, we might cope better, and maybe even heal a bit from the outrageous things going on around us. But probably not.

Videos
I shoot and edit videos for some of my songs which usually star Odious and sometimes his ventriloquist dummy and only friend, Little Odious. Little Odious is the first ventriloquist dummy to join (and then get kicked out of) SAG-AFTRA.
Songs
One of most gratifying ways I’ve found to express myself, is through writing and performing comedy songs in a style influenced by hot jazz, musical theater, Vaudeville, klezmer, and western swing. One of the least is talking to you because you don't listen.
